This page explains how cookies are used on stockmanor.co.uk. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally, and our GDPR statement.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you return to the site, or move from page to page, the browser sends the file back, which lets the site recognise the same visitor and remember things such as whether you are signed in. Related technologies, including local storage in your browser, do a similar job, and this policy covers those too.

Who sets cookies on this site

The shop runs on Shopify. Some cookies are set by Shopify as part of running the shop itself, rather than by us directly. They are necessary for the site to work: without them the shop cannot keep you signed in or hold a basket together from one page to the next.

What we use cookies for

Cookies on this site are used for the following purposes.

  • Signed-in sessions. Keeping you signed in to your trade account as you move around the site, and making sure the wholesale prices shown belong to your account.
  • Your basket. Remembering what you have added, so the contents survive moving between pages and returning later.
  • Your price display preference. Remembering whether you have chosen to see prices excluding or including VAT.
  • Basic analytics. Understanding how the site is used in aggregate, such as which pages are visited and whether anything is failing, so we can improve it.

The first three are necessary for the shop to function. Analytics is not necessary for the site to work, and exists only so we can see how it is performing.

We do not install advertising or remarketing trackers of our own. The storefront was checked on 17 September 2026 and carries no Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity tracking. If that changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live.

Shopify, which hosts and powers this shop, does set its own cookies and may use the resulting data for its own analytics, personalisation and advertising purposes as our platform provider. That is why the consent banner refers to Shopify and its partners. You can decline that use through the banner, and the shop will continue to work.

Cookie names and how long they last

Individual cookie names and lifetimes vary with the platform and can change when Shopify updates the shop. Rather than publish a list that may go out of date, we describe the purposes above. You can see exactly which cookies are stored for this site at any time using your browser's developer tools or site settings.

Controlling cookies

Every mainstream browser lets you see the cookies stored for a site, delete them, and block or restrict new ones. The controls are usually under privacy or site settings, and can normally be applied to one site or to all sites. Browser help pages explain the exact steps for each browser and version.

Please bear in mind that blocking cookies for this site will affect how it works. If session and basket cookies are blocked, you will not be able to stay signed in, keep a basket, or place an order.

Your choices

When you first visit the shop you are shown a cookie consent banner. You can Accept, Decline, or open Manage preferences to choose by category. Declining leaves the essential cookies in place, so the shop keeps working, but stops the non-essential ones.

Your choice is remembered in your browser. To change it later, clear this site's cookies in your browser and reload the page, and the banner will appear again.

You can also control cookies in your browser settings, including blocking them or deleting those already stored. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of the shop working, including signing in and keeping a basket.
